With the 3rd day of lockdown in India, everyone is sitting in their homes making different titbits {momos, rolls, gol gappe} and what not but no one cared about the stray dogs. In India, thousands of dogs are dependent on the food from shop owners and leftovers from the restaurants and now are hungry for two days straight. So, after cribbing a lot and concerned about the cops, I made a call to my area’s zonal police station and sought their permission to go out in the lockdown for feeding stray animals. After a short verbal inquiry, they permitted me to provide the tongue-tied. I picked up my bicycle and went to feed the dogs nearest to my place and the nearest market when I was returning I saw a cow on the road deprived searching for food, and then it hit me! that how many cows were on the streets and still not fed since two days. So, I decided to approach one and planned on offering her a chapati, and the way she snatched the chapati, I was in shock and dolefully all the food that I had, was finished. So, I came back home and did some research. There are 30million stray dogs and 5.2million stray cows in India, and someone needs to help them, or the lockdown would end up as a death role for these animals. I tried convincing my friends to help me with the food to feed the stray animals. Sadly everyone refused due to fear of cops and the fear of the virus. I am writing this blog because no one can fight this alone; the street animals need our help. Whosoever reads this blog and wants to help me contact me through any of my social media or the website, and if you see any stray animal around your house, please offer him a loaf.
